• Product Review: Brainwavz Kidwavz Headphones

If you have kids like I do, then you worry about their health constantly. I often worry about the headphones they use that send such a concentrated beam of sound to their ears. Over the ear headphones are one solution but they still put out a high decibel level that can damage developing ears. I admit that age is not the only factor to my hearing loss. It's my habit of listening to my music LOUD.

This is why the Brainwavz Kidwavz KV100 headphones are a solution to the problem that worries parents. The Brainwavz Kidwavz are an over the ear headphone set that limit the decibel (dB) output to your child's ears while providing comfort, Bluetooth connectivity, stylish looks and quality audio all in one.

Although I usually do the product reviews in my family, I couldn't do it this time as the headphones didn't fit my head. Not that I have an abnormally large head but, the headphones are built to fit kids sized heads. So, I had to rely on my two sons to try out the Brainwavz Kidwavz KV100 headphones. Here are their reviews.

    Joshua Age 15

I really enjoyed the Brainwavz Kidwavz KV100 headphones. I really liked the audio quality when connected to my BlackBerry Leap with the Aux cord. The headphones are comfortable on the head but since I wear glasses sometimes I did find that there was a little discomfort with the ear pads pushing on my ears and the back ends of my glasses. This was not a deal breaker as the comfort outweighed the discomfort.

I did notice that the audio quality is very good but not as good under bluetooth mode. The bluetooth mode is when the audio limiting happens. With the aux cord connected, the audio limiter isn't enabled so you need to turn down the volume with the buttons on your phone. Seems to me, if you were going to limit the headphone volume with bluetooth, you'd do the same when the aux cord was connected.

I did enjoy that the headphones didn't pinch and pull my hair. I have longer hair and the headphones didn't have the hinges to fold and possibly pinch my hair. Conversely, the headphones don't fold up so they are difficult to store in a backpack. I just placed them around my neck when I wasn't using them.

One thing I did not like is the fact that the volume buttons were slow to respond when in bluetooth mode. I kept the headphones attached with the aux cord 90% of the time.

Overall, I would love to own a pair of these headphones. They have good build quality, audio quality and durability that make me these perfect for a kid.

I really liked these headphones. The audio was great. They didn't give me a headache with loud audio. I enjoyed the bluetooth function of being able to advance songs with the buttons on the side of the headphone. You can't do that with the aux cord connected.

I also liked the microphone function. Calls were clear and I could be heard by my friends very well. I liked the color the headphones came in.

I didn't like that the ear cups were small. I'd have preferred that they went over my ears but it didn't effect the sound of the music at all.

I enjoyed these headsets by Brainwavz. I think kids at my school would enjoy them as well.

You can buy the Brainwavz Kidwavz headphones many places online. They come in Black, Pink and Blue and they retail for $42.50 but if you do some shopping around, you can find a great deal on these headsets.
