In some markets the nearly 2-year-old PlayBook may be forgotten, but it appears that it is leading a charge in the UK of alternative tablets to Apple's iPad.
The Channel has reported that total tablet sales in the last 2 months of 2012 saw RIM's tablet come out on top with 160,000 devices out of a total 802,000. To put this in perspective, Apple sold 113,000 units and the Google Nexus 7 shifted 105,000 devices.
Of course, this is also thanks to the heavy discounting that the PlayBook has received in the UK. Anecdotal evidence suggests that there is still a high demand for the PlayBook at stores where the discounts are in place.
Great news to see before the launch of BlackBerry 10 tomorrow!
