The Research In Motion shuffle continues. According to the WSJ, Patrick Spence, RIM's Head of Global Sales, has resigned the company after 14 years of work. Spence had been with RIM search 1998 and, in many people's opinions, was one of the strongest VPs RIM has had.
The move, although surprising, can't be too shocking especially after the appointment of a new COO and CMO two weeks ago
, it's evident RIM is changing a lot.
In an official statement, a RIM spokesperson confirmed the news:
"I can confirm that Patrick Spence, Head of Global Sales for Research In Motion, has resigned following 14 years of service. Patrick will be taking on a leadership position in a different industry. The sales function will report directly into Kristian Tear, our newly appointed COO when he starts this summer. In the interim, the sales function will report to [CEO] Thorsten Heins."
