  • Is Nokia Ripping Off BlackBerry's Night Bikes Commercial?

I was watching the news the other morning and during a break, a commercial for the new Nokia Lumia 928 Windows phone came on. Quite frankly, I wasn’t impressed with the features it was hawking. I mean, please…it’s a Windows phone. What caught my attention was the video that the commercial contained.

Anyone remember the BlackBerry "Night Bikes" commercial that had had the glowing neon-esque bicycles and touted BBM on the Curve 9350/9360/9370 models? Well it seems that Nokia has “borrowed” BlackBerry’s concept of glowing two wheeled vehicles except Nokia is using hipsters on scooters to push their new camera on the phone. Take a minute to watch the two videos and compare.

So, what do you think? Is Nokia guilty of ripping off the BlackBerry commercial? Or are there just no more new ideas? Maybe Nokia is guilty of subconscious plagiarism, like George Harrison was found guilty of for his song “My Sweet Lord”. Let us know what you think of this in the comments below.
