• More images of the BlackBerry ‘Venice’ Slider appear

    Happy Friday!

It starting to feel like Christmas with all the leaked images and videos of the new BlackBerry ‘Venice’ Slider appearing. Earlier today a hands-on video of the device surfaced, but it didn’t offer a good close-up of the device or much new information.

Now some more detailed images have appeared that give us a little more detailed look at the new Slider.

This first image shows the detailed information in the “About phone” menu. This image confirms the model number on this specific device is STV100-6, there are usually multiple versions of the device and the trailing number will change accordingly. It also confirms the processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808. The Android version on this device is 5.1.1 and the kernel that is using Grsecurity.

Here is a little information about Grsecurity from their website:

Grsecurity® is an extensive security enhancement to the Linux kernel that defends against a wide range of security threats through intelligent access control, memory corruption-based exploit prevention, and a host of other system hardening that generally require no configuration. It has been actively developed and maintained for the past 14 years. Commercial support for grsecurity is available through Open Source Security, Inc.

The second image shows the camera in a closer view. The camera clearly reads "Schneider-Kreuznach 18 Megapixel". Schneider-Kreuznach is a high-end camera lens manufacturer. It's refreshing to see that BlackBerry has apparently made the camera a high priority function of the device.

The rest of the image are of stuff we have already seen, but maybe a little more refined.
