It seems that there's a bug in BlackBerry 10 that is affecting a number of handsets. It's quite severe so read on for the issue and a workaround.
For some reason, the handsets have started to fail to rotate and cause other problems such as the lock screen and home screen freezing up for a number of seconds. The compass app also displays an error and stops working. Also, the proximity sensor stops working which means the screen doesn't dim when you're on a call.
This isn't affecting every
BlackBerry 10 handset though - so if you're unaffected, Great!
For those that are affected though - only a complete reboot will fix the problem.
Digging around the problem myself, I've found that the bug is triggered by the location services part of BlackBerry 10. To stop the bug hitting you, you need to go into the Settings app, open 'Location Services' and turn it off.
Do bear in mind that this also disables any GPS working so navigation is out. Seeing as location services breaks a number of sensors
We've reached out to BlackBerry to see what they have to say about the issue and will keep you updated.
Let us know if you've been hit by the issue and if you have any other solutions.
