It seems like Thorsten's recent comments about there still being a possibility for licensing BlackBerry 10 caused the folks over at Lenovo to take a closer look. According to Bloomberg, Chief Financial Officer Wong Wai Ming commented at a interview in Davos, Switzerland: “We are looking at all opportunities -- RIM and many others. We’ll have no hesitation if the right opportunity comes along that could benefit us and shareholders.”
Apparently Lenovo has spoken to RIM and its bankers about different combinations of assets acquisitions or strategic ventures. Wong declined to comment on when the company would make a decision on whether to bid for a mobile-device maker.
Like we mentioned in an article back in July, any partnership with Lenovo would prove beneficial to both companies. With the BlackBerry 10 Launch so close at hand, I doubt we'll hear any more specifics, but the idea has got me thinking. Would you buy a Lenovo tablet running BlackBerry 10?
