via N4BB has stumbled upon a possible slip-up from RIM. While in the BlackBerry vendor portal, you have the option to set device compatibility when submitting an app. A new device option, 9730, is now showing up that would definitely be a new BlackBerry model number we haven't seen or heard of before (see image above).
We can speculate what this may be, but without official word from RIM, it may just be a simple typo. However, there has been speculation about a possible CDMA cousin to the BlackBerry Bold 9790 that would sell through many North American carriers, such as; Verizon, Sprint, ect.
We'll keep you posted on any developments with the 9730 model number. Let us know what you think about a new BlackBerry 7 device... good or bad idea?
Update: As pointed out by BBOS member Jason below, RIM has confirmed this was simply a error on their part. No new 9730 Bold device.
