January 2nd The Release Date For BlackBerry 10 Phones?

Happy New Year!! Happy New BlackBerry 10 phones?? There is some rumbling coming out of the GITEX Shopper Electronic Show in Dubai that is probably just a rumor and/or speculation. But some vendors are mentioning that the highly anticipated BlackBerry 10 phones will be released on January 2nd of 2013, meeting the Q1/2013 time frame very early. And with the plethora of leaks that have hit, it does seem somewhat...somewhat plausible.

Some retailers are saying that the first couple days of the new year are when BlackBerry 10 will be announced. "You just wait until January 2 to pick up the best handsets; that is when the BlackBerry 10 will launch, and it will blow away the competition", said one vendor. An anonymous retailer mentioned (about the January 2nd date), “That is the date which is the being buzzed by our suppliers but until RIM confirms it as such, we are not privy to a final confirmation."

So, take what you will from what the article says and what the vendors are saying. Is it true? Is it worth getting your hopes up for? With no word officially or otherwise from RIM, all we really can do at this time is speculate.
