For all of you who use Hub Browser, you should head over to the BlackBerry World as an update for the app has arrived earlier today. This update is focused on improving the security of the app by adding two new features, which are Timelock and an application password. Besides that, the developer also added a number of new features based on feedback from users.
If you haven't heard about this app yet, it basically allows you to open any web pages directly within the BlackBerry Hub, so you don't need to switch between the BlackBerry Hub and browser when you want to open web links sent to you.
The press release of the update follows:
New to this release:
- Application Password – Set up a password to be entered whenever you open a link
- Timelock – The latest advancement in app security, enable a timer – in conjunction with the application password – to lock the application periodically
- URL Shortening Integration – For on-the-fly sharing of links, integration with a new URL shortening platform has been added
"We have been diligently working on adding features that will improve the Hub Browser experience and with the introduction of Timelock, we have demonstrated our ability to deliver on security to ensure that our users can remain safe and secure whilst browsing the web and reading through important information when using Hub Browser," says Toby Clench, Managing Director at Tundra Core Studios.
