BlackBerryOS.com - Google Maps Voice Navigation Running On BlackBerry 10
  • Google Maps Voice Navigation Running On BlackBerry 10

Demo of Google Maps Voice turn-by-turn Navigation running as a Android app on BlackBerry 10. The device I'm using is called the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha, and is the first BlackBerry 10 phone seeded to developers. This is not the final BlackBerry 10 device that will be launching in Jan of 2013.

Google Maps was sideloaded (manually installed) onto my device and is able to run because of the Android player that comes installed into the BlackBerry operating system. For more on how to sideload Android apps onto your BlackBerry PlayBook or BlackBerry 10 device, check out our how-to in the forums. You can download the Google Maps .bar file here.

The app can be a bit touchy at times. But with a strong GPS signal, it seems to work rather well. Let me know if you install and use the Google Navigator and how it works for you.
