Goal.com has officially announced that they have signed on Research In Motion as a partner and will be promoting their products and services on their desktop and mobile sites along the MEA (Middle East and Africa) region. Goal.com is the world's largest football website and reaches over 14 million fans across the MEA region.
Not only will Goal.com provide advertising placements for BlackBerry products, but also, they will develop their own exclusive BlackBerry "mobile micro-site." This site, which will grant access to over 9 million users, will have content written by Goal.com's own editorial team exclusively for BlackBerry users.
“This is a very exciting development in the evolution of Goal.com as both a global and a local platform. Our ambition has always been to provide our users with the best and most relevant football content which in turn will provide RIM with an opportunity to reach an engaged local audience," stated Daryn Wober, Managing Director of Global Business Development of PERFORM, the company that own Goal.com.
Research In Motion keeps fortifying its presence in the Middle Eastern and African markets with deals like this one. BlackBerry has been known as the most popular brand in many parts of Africa
so this new deal will probably be extremely popular among customers in that area. Hopefully once BB10 hits, we'll start more promotional deals like this in our neck of the woods.
