  • Former Sr. Director Dev Relations, Mike Kirkup, Talks About RIM & Waterloo

Former RIM Senior Director of Global Developer Relations and friend to BBOS, Mike Kirkup, talks with Canadian News Network, CTV, about RIM's current situation and how this has affected the Waterloo community where they are headquartered. Mike goes into a little about what part of the community has been affected the most, and how those RIM employees that will be laid off will be able to deal with the job cuts. For those who don't know, since his resignation from RIM, Mike Kirkup is now the Director of Velocity @uWaterloo, and continues to work on his startup, NextUp Labs.

Check out the video above, and also be sure to let us know your own thoughts on RIM and Waterloo in the comments!
