It's been a week now since BlackBerry announced that Mike Lazaridis would retire from Vice Chair and a Director of the company. But don't let that news fool you into thinking that Mr. Lazaridis is going anti-BlackBerry like his counterpart Jim Balsillie did. According to a statement he told Reuters, Lazaridis has no plans to sell his shares for the time being.
"I'm really proud of what we built together at RIM, and I believe I’m leaving it in good hands, and remain one of its largest shareholders."
I think it's good to see the man behind the company is still hanging around. Perhaps he realizes that with BlackBerry 10 and Thorsten Heins behind the reigns, that BlackBerry will come back strong in the North American market, and be on top once again.
How long do you think Lazaridis will hold onto BlackBerry shares?
