Fake BlackBerry ID Email Could Bring Malware To Your Device

A new malicious email is making its way around the interweb and could potentially land on your BlackBerry device. Websense ThreatSeeker Network has intercepted a malware campaign targeting us specifically, believe it or not.

Fake emails are circulating that state the recipient has successfully created a BlackBerry ID and proceeds:

"To enjoy the full benefits of your BlackBerry ID, please follow the instructions in the attached file."

And that's the kicker. The attachment contains what seems to be a PC Trojan along with other executable files and changes things up in the system registry to have them start when the device boots up.

We encourage our readers that may encounter this email to please delete it as soon as possible and not download the attached files.
