  • Exclusive: Daniel Jeppsson Of Funkoi Gives Us A Sneak Peek Of Alpha Zero On Q10 & Upcoming EyeBert Game

During BlackBerry Live last week, we got the chance to sit down with Daniel Jeppsson, Founder of Funkoi, and got the inside scoop of what they have coming to BlackBerry. You are NOT going to want to miss this interview (see video above)! Daniel starts off by giving us some information about the history of Funkoi, then as any avid gamer would do, we quickly jump into demoing the games.

The first game he demoed for us is Alpha Zero. Alpha Zero was the first game that Funkoi released for BlackBerry 10, which made it's debut at BlackBerry Jam Americas 2012 in San Jose. Alpha Zero is currently available in BlackBerry World for only $2.99 for the Z10 and PlayBook, and Daniel gave us the inside scoop that the game is also coming soon to the BlackBerry Q10, and the newly announced Q5. To our surprise, Daniel gave us an exclusive sneak peek demo of Alpha Zero on the Q10 and how it works with a mini bluetooth gaming controller. The game is smooth, fast, and fun! Awesome stuff!

The next game we got a look at was called, Little 3 Kingdoms, which is a castle defense strategy game. With Funkoi being a company based out of Vietnam, they wanted to capture that Asian animation and graphical nature throughout the interface. So the UI is very much like something you'd see from an Asian comic or cartoon. Little 3 Kingdoms is currently available for the BlackBerry Z10 and Q10 for only $2.99 in BlackBerry World.

Now get ready for this… we also got an exclusive sneak peek at Funkoi's upcoming game called, EyeBert. Think Mario meets Monster Dash. I can sit here and talk about it, but you need to watch the video to get a picture at how awesome this game really is! EyeBert is a running style game with different worlds and story mode with various levels. Much like Mario Bros. Daniel takes us through the entire first level of the game, and I can't wait to see more!

Before we closed out the interview, we were told that three more games are currently in production for BlackBerry! We can't wait to see what else Funkoi brings to the platform, and we'll be sure to tell you the second we find out. You can learn more about Funkoi at their website here.

Check out a couple screenshots taken from our video interview which you can watch in full at the top of this article...
