  • Even Before Being Released, Another BlackBerry 10 Feature Gets Copied

Charles Caleb Colton once said, "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery," and apparently with BlackBerry 10 that's turning out to be true. The guys over at RapidBerry found out about a new Android mod that copies the BlackBerry 10 unlock animation pretty well and is available on Jelly Bean and Ice Cream Sandwich.

It works well, but I can't help but notice u have to actually tap the side button to illuminate the backlight and then proceed to swipe up. There's still no way to copy actually waking up the device with a swipe up gesture. Nevertheless, it's a solid attempt.

For a platform that hasn't even released to the public yet, BlackBerry 10 apparently has some things other OS lovers want on their devices. We've seen the keyboard copied by jailbreakers on iOS and now we get this.

We can definitely see why RIM has only released certain things to the public and has decided to keep some from us till the official launch. It's okay though, let them copy it for now. In a couple of months they'll be able to upgrade to the real thing, BlackBerry 10.
