• Dan Dodge Retiring As CEO of BlackBerry's QNX Software Systems

According to a recent article from the Globe and Mail, Dan Dodge, co-founder and CEO of QNX Software Systems has resigned from his position, and will retire at the end of the year.

We are grateful for Dan Dodge's contributions to QNX and BlackBerry and his work building a start-up to an undisputed leader in embedded software. With Dan's retirement, John Wall, who has been instrumental to the success of QNX as Chief Operating Officer, will transition into the role of Senior Vice President and Head of QNX. We're appreciative of Dan's 35 years of dedication to QNX and wish him all the best in his retirement.
Mr. Dodge has spent almost four decades working for QNX, and has overseen development of QNX software for the BlackBerry PlayBook & BlackBerry 10, as well as Project Ion, BlackBerry’s IoT offering.

QNX was birthed by Dodge, along University of Waterloo classmate Gordon Bell, back in 1980. The company was sold to BlackBerry in April 2010.

John Wall, QNX’s Chief Operating Officer, will take over Mr Dodge's responsibilities upon retirement. Mr Wall started with QNX as Technical Support in January 1993.
