  • A Closer Look Into BlackBerry 10 Sensors

BlackBerry 10 devices are robust mobile computing machines. They will have a wide variety of built-in sensors to detect anything from movement to magnetic fields. With ever progressing advancements, we begin to see these new sensors become more prevalent in everyday smartphone use. They allow our devices to "see" and "hear" the world around us.

Light and proximity sensors are just one way that allow our device to "see." Developers can leverage the following types of sensors in their applications: accelerometer, magnetometer, temperature, gyroscope, compass, proximity, holster, rotation sensor, GPS, microphone and camera.

For more info on these sensors, check out the InsideBB Dev blog, and have a look at the BlackBerry 10 sensor documentations.
