Social network Candid has received a major revamp to version 3.0 this morning! If you're not familiar with Candid (formerly Diaree), it's an open public forum/social network where you can express your troubles and/or feelings anonymously. The Kitchener-Waterloo based startup has not only revamped the UI of their app from what we've previously seen in v2.2, but they've also introduced a new feature called Spaces. Spaces is a sub-community within the larger Candid community around common interests, such as food or photography, and around real-life communities such as colleges and workplaces.
I've been using the limited beta of v3.0 for a few days now and I've enjoyed the ability of posting to an anonymous forum my random rants. You should be seeing the updated version rolling out in BlackBerry World over the next 24-48 hours.
Kitchener-Waterloo, ON – November 6 2014 – Available now, Candid 3.0 takes the Candid experience that tens of thousands already love and makes it even better. Candid 3.0 introduces Spaces, sub-communities within the larger Candid community around common interests, such as food or photography, and around real-life communities such as colleges and workplaces. Spaces let people join conversations that are more relevant to them, and create new possibilities for interaction. Candid 3.0 also introduces a revamped UI and geolocation tagging, allowing people to better discover the stories near them.
“The response from our thousands of beta testers has been phenomenal, and we're excited to bring Candid 3.0 to the rest of our users.” said Taylor Byrnes, Candid CEO. “When Candid launched we never imagined we'd get the level of enthusiasm and support we've received from our users, and we can't wait to make Candid even better for them and those who haven't yet discovered it.”
“The Candid experience is built on genuine user interaction, and this has led to many incredible stories in the months since Candid first launched” said Gyubok Baik, Candid CXO. For one couple a Candid post about feeling alone sparked a conversation that led to finding love thousands of miles away, and a life-changing move across the continent. For others Candid has let them speak out, and say what they can't say elsewhere. One Iranian dissident chose Candid to criticize their government, and share their story of life under sanctions and dictatorship.
Candid 3.0 is available immediately from the Apple App Store, Google Play and BlackBerry World. Visit talkcandid.com/download to download Candid for all platforms.
