I'm not sure how these news escaped us. Perhaps its the fact that a Barnes and Noble app has been absent from AppWorld since launch despite the fact that there has been a request for the app
even before the PlayBook came to market. In any event, the popular book seller Barnes and Noble launched their answer to Amazon's cloud reader last thursday.
Although it was designed with the personal computer user in mind, the PlayBook's powerful browser is able to load the page without a hitch. The availability of font resizing is really useful to make the reading experience much more enjoyable.
Of course, there are lots of other alternatives out there for reading on the playbook, but Barnes and Noble customers had to resort to other ways of accessing their libraries. I'm sure it won't be long before either BN or a clever dev makes a native app for PlayBook. Take a look at the screen caps below, try nook for web
on your PlayBook and let us know what you are currently reading.
