BlackBerry is set to bring the new BlackBerry Z3 to India on June 25th and it should be a hit. The Times of India reports that the Z3 is poised to enter the low priced device market that has hit India recently. The BlackBerry Z3 is slated to be priced lower than Rs12,000 or around $190.
The price point is meant to make the Foxconn built BlackBerry phone competitive in India, where BlackBerry's market share was once 12.1% in 2012. But with the influx of iOS and Android devices, BlackBerry's position has drastically been cut into.
The BlackBerry Z3, code named Jakarta, has already been a hit in Indonesia and BlackBerry has already stated that the Z3 will be introduced in other markets such as Vietnam, the Philippines and Malaysia. And with the features of the Z3, and the reasonable pricing, we can only hope that the new BlackBerry is a hit and will be the device that brings the return of BlackBerry's fortunes to India.
