It's well known that BlackBerry users are loyal. But it can be said now that they're heroes as well. An incident that happened in Jakarta, Indonesia involving a little girl who went missing, a frantic family, social media and BlackBerry Users concluded with a joyous ending.
Roy Julian's 7 year old daughter went missing when they went to visit the National Monument in Central Jakarta. Little 7 year old Alma Aini Hakim, went missing when her aunt allowed Alma to go off by herself in the crowded park, to buy snacks.
When Roy could not find his daughter, he turned to social media by changing his Facebook profile picture to his daughter's photo and posted a message that she was missing. The message immediately went viral, faster than the police could act.
Alma was missing for four days but she was not in danger as she had been found playing in the park, by Aja Suharja, a businessman who rents bicycles. Suharja had taken Alma home with him and she stayed with his family for those four days. Police say that Aja didn't understand he should have informed the police that he had found her.
A woman at the park, Dwisca Kartinia, noticed Alma riding a bicycle at the same park, five days after she had been reported missing. Dwisca took Alma to the local police department where Alma's parents were notified and reunited with her. The hero, Dwisca Kartinia, says that she was aware of Alma being missing by hearing a radio broadcast but also having received a broadcast BBM message about Alma.
