  • BlackBerry Update 10.2.1 Available From Today



    In what has been described as the most important update so far, BlackBerry 10, version 10.2.1 is available from today in territories outside USA.

    BlackBerry 10.2.1 is technically a "maintenance release", but brings across a number of hugely important updates including the ability to install and run native Android APKs.

    Here's a summary of some of the big changes:

    • Support for native Android apps
    • Install Android APKs directly from device or over the air
    • Hub features a customisable "pinch to filter"
    • Volume and media popups now appear at the top of the screen
    • Voice recognition provides more results from Wolfram Alpha
    • Lock screen now has a Picture Password option
    • Lock screen notifications can be opened
    • New device and app monitor apps

    Make sure you check Software Updates in the Settings app and let us know if you have an update.

    Subject to carrier approvals, BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2.1 will be available to customers around the world, rolling out starting today in the U.S., Europe, Canada, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America, and will be available for the entire line of smartphones running BlackBerry 10 (including the Porsche Design P’9982).
