BlackBerry has made a two-season marketing deal with the Barclays Center, home of the Nets professional basketball team. The deal would allow for the company to promote its new Z10 phone in prominent places around the arena. Mike Zavodsky, the Nets VP of new corporate marketing, stated that BlackBerry would have its own customer "experiential" area and suite-level lounge.
The deal valued between $1 million and $5 million would allow BlackBerry to have "brand domination" from "street to seat," said Zavodsky. According to the New York Post, a deal with BlackBerry could be announced as early as today.
BlackBerry has been making a strong marketing push for its new BlackBerry Z10 smartphone. The company recently purchased ad space on USA Today and has been actively releasing more commercials in the U.S.
