BlackBerry just pushed an update to the android runtime environment for users who were experiencing issues with android apps not running after the 10.2 update rolled out earlier this week. And although it is not clear how many users were affected by the bug, BlackBerry decided to bypass the carriers and push the update as a standalone app as opposed to an incremental OS update. Other users have reported other bugs and issues with the update as was the case with the 10.1 MR earlier this fall with users losing sms conversations or having strange freezes and lock ups. Still, it is a good sign that despite the issues, BlackBerry is willing to work through the muck and continue to strive to deliver frequent updates.
The version on this runtime is 10.2.0.132 which should fix issues with the android runtime in the latest 10.2 official OS. Of course, as always when installing a different android runtime, restart your device.
IF YOU ARE NOT EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH YOUR ANDROID RUNTIME, YOU DO NOT NEED TO INSTALL THIS UPDATE
