When we first got our hands on the BlackBerry Q5 in Orlando, we were told this device would probably never see the light of day in North America, as it's aimed primarily at emerging markets. While this could still be true, it's interesting to see a model of the Q5 compatible with AT&T 3G radio frequencies make its way through the FCC.
As Engadget reports, it's very possible that this was done purely to ensure that a Q5 from another country will work here in the U.S. (the roaming application). However, it also could be that BlackBerry changed it's mind, and the Q5 will be coming to the U.S.
We will have to keep waiting as there has been no official word on pricing, availability dates, or carriers for the Q5 as of yet.
