Currently, RIM's BlackBerry PlayBook has gone up to 19% in marketshare, while Apple's iPad has gone down to 56%. Now this may not seem like a huge deal, but when you think about the fact that just one year ago the iPad held a whopping 80% of the tablet marketshare in Canada, it kind of puts things in perspective.
The study points out that there is "clearly an appetite for devices with smaller-screen sizes that allow for more portability than the iPad, not to mention at a significantly lower price point."
The PlayBook being a 7" tablet and a few hundred dollars cheaper than the iPad fits this description perfectly.
I'm still hoping once the LTE/4G PlayBooks are announced that carriers will start bundling them with BlackBerry 7 phones as they make the perfect combination.
