It seems that everyone knows what BlackBerry is up to at the moment. The latest news to splash over the internet is courtesy of the Wall Street Journal, and their army of anonymous sources.
So what's going on? Well, it seems as though BlackBerry are considering of creating BBM as another business under the BlackBerry name. As the move to make BBM cross-platform is underway, this isn't such a crazy consideration and there's no reason to think that BlackBerry haven't considered it.
The Wall Street Journal have worded their article carefully - there are no plans laid down or any decisions made at the moment. Just "considerations".
On a positive note for the millions of BBM users out there though - there may be a desktop version of the world-class messaging app as well.
Of course, as BlackBerry manoeuvre BBM is a social platform as well as a messaging platform with BBM Channels, none of this seems far-fetched at all, and it wouldn't surprise me if this hasn't already been considered for some time.
For now, we'll just have to wait and see where BBM goes.
