• BlackBerry Mercury Unveiling Set For February 25th In Barcelona

Let's clear up the elephant in the room - you probably don't recognize my username. I'm Royce and I'm the new guy. I have a strong passion for all things BlackBerry, which is my main reason for joining the BlackBerryOS team. I can't wait to cover BlackBerry news - between phones, cars (QNX Auto), enterprise, and BBRY stock, I've got a lot of topics to choose from...

Okay, with my introduction out of the way, let's talk about the Mercury.

The BlackBerry Mercury has officially been given an unveiling date. It will be announced in Barcelona on February 25th - just days before Mobile World Congress is set to kick off. It's certainly going to be an interesting event, and the phone itself looks to be appealing to many with its keyboard and specs.

Speaking of specs, here's what we know so far about the Mercury's specs.

The phone is expected to pack a 4.5-inch Full HD display with 3:2 aspect ratio, as well as a Snapdragon 625 or 821 (both have been rumoured numerous times). Charging is expected to be done via USB Type C. Storage-wise, we're probably looking at 32GB, with 3GB of RAM on board. Photographers may start jumping to a "Shot on BlackBerry" campaign (if there is one), because the camera is expected to best the competition - it's likely to be an 18-megapixel shooter with LED flash. The front camera is expected to pack a whopping 8 megapixels. As for battery life, you'll probably get a solid day out of it, judging by the size of the battery - 3400mAh.

Judging by those specs, it's sure to be a solid phone. Will you be buying it? Sound off in the comments below!
