BlackBerry Holds Third Place In US Market As Windows Falls

Although BlackBerry has lost a couple percentage points in the US Market according to comScore's Dec 2012 market share results, they still hold strong in the third place spot. And it looks like Windows has failed to capitalize on the decline with a decline of their own. Even though Windows has released a new phone and OS, it looks like US subscribers aren't buying into it. Comscore reports:

"Google Android ranked as the top smartphone platform with 53.4 percent market share (up 0.9 percentage points), while Apple’s share increased 2 percentage points to 36.3 percent. Blackberry ranked third with 6.4 percent share, followed by Microsoft (2.9 percent) and Symbian (0.6 percent)."

This is great news for BlackBerry as we get ready for a major US launch for the new BlackBerry Z10 smartphone next month. It will be interesting to see where the number come up for Q1/Q2. If they are anything like the numbers coming in from the UK and Canada, BlackBerry will be on it's way back to the top!
