App development on the BlackBerry platform has received a huge boost over the past couple of months. RIM is trying very hard to get on the same page with developers of BlackBerry apps as much as possible. In their latest BlackBerry Developers blog, "BBM Apps Hackathon Stories," we're shown different videos from app developers all over North America.

In the video above, we check in with Kathryn Lahrs, developer of PowWow, who tells us why and how she develops for BlackBerry. We first spoke to Kathryn back in August at the BBM Hackathon when she was nice enough to do a quick interview with us about her app, PowWow.

This series of videos, shows how RIM is putting the focus on the developers and their day-to-day life making apps on BlackBerry. This is definitely a pretty cool idea and with events like the BBM Hackathon, it shows how hard RIM is trying to connect with developers and make the BlackBerry OS even more app-friendly.
