BlackBerry users in Canada were shocked to learn today that longtime BlackBerry supporter, Rogers Wireless, would not be adding the upcoming Z30 to its device lineup when other carriers do so on October 15th.
According to the Globe and Mail, a Rogers spokesperson was quoted as saying, "We believe we can fulfil our customers’ demand for a BlackBerry device with our current lineup." Really? That has to be the lamest reason to not carry a smartphone ever.
There definitely has to be more to this story than is being revealed right now. As mentioned before, Rogers has been a huge backer of BlackBerry, releasing the Z10, Q10, and Q5 models in a timely fashion. Maybe they're stuck with a large number of these devices still, and don't feel like taking on the extra load? Who knows. Hopefully they change their minds soon, and get this bad boy out for their customers.
