You wouldn't think at first glance that BlackBerry & Joe Carter would have anything in common, but when it comes to raising funds for the Children’s Aid Foundation they are both dedicated to the cause.
The annual Joe Carter Classic charity golf tournament pairs avid golfers with top name celebrities from the worlds of sport and entertainment. Proceeds from the event go towards supporting the education and development of Canadian youth through the Joe Carter Scholarship Fund and the Joe Carter Family Support Fund. Since 2010, the Joe Carter Classic has raised and pledged a combined $1,500,000 to benefit the Children’s Aid Foundation, with BlackBerry being a sponsor since the start.
Cedric Daley, Enterprise Account Manager at BlackBerry discusses in the video below the details of BlackBerry's sponsorship of this charity event over its 6 years existence.
It's great to see BlackBerry having a community-oriented mind. This is a win-win situation, as they're able to promote their products while at the same time helping children who are in need.
