• BlackBerry Begins Hiring Sales Marketing Team For BBM Channels

    BlackBerry is officially searching to hire a media sales team that will be looking to connect and bring on advertisers for the upcoming BBM Channels social network feature in BlackBerry Messenger. All this of course will be so that BBM can generate more revenue for the company. In theory, by bringing the messaging app cross-platform free of charge, it will be able to generate enough users to lure in the big advertisers.

    While this is good for BlackBerry, in that, if it does become successful that means more money in their pockets to create and innovate. But on the other hand, we don't know how intrusive BBM Channels will become. I don't think it would be very pleasant to have a social network we can't opt out of that spams us on a daily basis. It will be interesting to see how far and deeply integrated channels reaches into the BBM platform.
