  • BlackBerry Appoints Ron Louks As President, Devices And Emerging Solutions



    Stepping away from all of the news coming out of CES this week, BlackBerry have announced a top-level recruitment in the form of Ron Louks.

    Ron Louks has been appointed President, Devices and Emerging Solutions reporting directly to CEO, John Chen. Being no stanger to the mobile technology world, Ron's resume includes leadership roles at Sony Ericsson and HTC America.

    With the brief of bringing focus to BlackBerry's "long-term product roadmap", it will be interesting to see how he can bring goods and deliver on John Chen's action plan.

    BlackBerry Appoints Leadership for Devices Business
    WATERLOO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Jan. 6, 2014) - BlackBerry(R) Limited (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSX:BB), a world leader in mobile communications, today announced that Ron Louks will join the Company as President, Devices and Emerging Solutions reporting to BlackBerry's Executive Chair and CEO, John Chen.

    Ron Louks joins BlackBerry from The OpenNMS Group, where he served as the Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that, Ron held many leadership positions over several decades in the technology industry, including as the Chief Strategy Officer of HTC America Inc. and the Chief Technology Officer at Sony Ericsson.
