As we all know, RIM's biggest obstacle has been to close the 'app gap' with the new BlackBerry 10 operating system. With BlackBerry Jam events, Dev Alpha devices, Port-A-Thons, and new BlackBerry Developer Tools, RIM has not been shy when it comes to supporting developers. This has been a huge factor when it comes to RIM being able to reach their goal of number of apps in BlackBerry World by launch this Jan 30th.
Although we may not see all the biggest players on BlackBerry 10 at launch, RIM CMO Frank Boulben told Fierce Wireless that BlackBerry 10 will launch with at least 70,000 apps, and that BlackBerry 10 will support 90% of the top 600 iOS and Android apps. Now that's quite impressive!
Let's hope this trend lets any other developers out there who may be on the fence about BlackBerry 10, that there will be consumers out there to support them.
