Thorsten Heins has not been holding back in the media recently. He told the Australian Financial Review that Apple's iOS is starting to look a bit dated.
In the same interview, he dropped a big statistic that BlackBerry World will be conquering by the time the U.S. Launch is official: reaching 100,000 apps for BlackBerry 10.
Now, that's a ton of apps. Around 30,000 more than were available at the launch of BlackBerry 10 back at the end of January.
Now, there's something to be said about quality vs quantity, but even with that argument, BlackBerry is delivering.
Last week, one of the big "promised" apps, WhatsApp, launched in BlackBerry World.
Skype, Amazon Kindle, and other apps are coming at the end of this month (barring any crazy setbacks), so we are seeing and will continue to see these big name apps make their way to us.
100,000 is a huge milestone for BlackBerry. There's no doubt that developers are definitely putting a ton of effort into the apps they're submitting to BlackBerry World, and we're definitely reaping the benefits.
Next goal, 150,000!
