• BlackBerry 10 Limited Edition Device Not Available For Verizon Subscribers

    If you are a Verizon subscriber and applied for RIM's promotion to receive a BlackBerry 10 Limited Edition device, you probably have already received an email with some unfortunate news:

    "I wanted to let you know that although you have been approved to receive a BlackBerry 10 Limited Edition device, we are not able to offer the device from Verizon. Instead we will send you a 4G device."

    The BB10 LE program gave applicants the option to choose what type of device they would receive. Verizon, among others, was on that list. I'm sure this comes as a shock to those die hard Big Red subscribers who would never think about moving to another carrier. Luckily, I'm not one of them. I love Big Red, but as a Verizon subscriber myself, looks like I'll be moving on... for now. I'll proudly move to another carrier so that I can boastfully brandish my BB10 Limited Edition device around town to all the other BlackBerry users out there (please note my sarcasm... a little).

    RIM Dev Support does clarify in the email that this mishap won't affect Verizon's support for BlackBerry 10 as they will still offer the standard devices in stores:
    "Please note that Verizon is completely committed to launching BlackBerry 10 devices, but we are not able to order the Limited Edition devices at this time."
