In case you have been wondering what Frank Boulben, CMO for Research In Motion, has been up to, you can wonder no more. In a press release made available today, Boulben confirmed in a statement that RIM would be pushing for BlackBerry 10 in a new 30 second spot during the largest televised event in North America, if not the world. The ad, created by London-based AMV BBDO, will feature the soon to be officially announced BlackBerry 10 devices and will be accompanied with ads promoted on social media including Facebook and Twitter and will be played throughout the game.
A Super Bowl commercial is a great opportunity to show the redesigned, re-engineered and reinvented BlackBerry to tens of millions of consumers on the largest advertising stage of the year.
We couldn't agree more. With the Superbowl slated to air on February 3, just a few days after the official BlackBerry 10 Launch event, this latest revealed card of RIM's hand is sure to culminate in an explosion of interest from the population at large in the new platform. Excitement has already been steadily bubbling on Twiitter for the last few weeks leading to the launch event.
Kudos RIM, our hats off to Frank and his team.
