Last night, BlackBerry hosted a Fan Night for a ton of people, including the 30 winners of the #BlackBerry10NYC Twitter contest. The night was filled with drinks, laughs and relief from BlackBerry employees to finally be able to show off their Z10s. A little surprise visit from BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins was definitely one of the highlights of the night. He stopped by and thanked everyone involved with the event, including the fans which started a mini "Thorsten" chant.
Some of the attendees got their pictures taken in front of the BlackBerry 10 wall with Thorsten Heins. Yes, that is Joe in the #teamBlackBerry football jersey.
Aside from Thorsten, Frank Boulben, BlackBerry CMO, came by the event. He showed us his personal device, the one on the left, a white BlackBerry Q10! This is the first time we gotten to see a white Q10 in the wild, and yes it's as hot as it looks in this picture! (Make sure you check out John's hands-on with the Q10 from yesterday's London launch event). Honestly, after seeing it and using it, I'm extremely torn about whether to use the Z10 or Q10 as my main device, once the latter comes out in the U.S.
All in all, it was an amazing day and the Fan Night was the perfect relaxing way to wrap it all up. Now that the phones have been announced, the era of BlackBerry 10 is officially under way.
