• BlackBerry 10 Delayed Until Q1/2013

Research In Motion today in a press release have said that their new BlackBerry 10 smartphone will be delayed until the first financial quarter(Q1) of 2013. This is extremely (insert your favorite word here) to pretty much all of us BlackBerry users who were waiting for some good news on a day that we knew would not be pretty for the BlackBerry World it's supporters.

The successful launch of the BlackBerry 10 platform and the delivery of high quality, full-featured BlackBerry 10 smartphones remain the Company’s number one priority. Over the past several weeks, RIM’s software development teams have made major progress in the development of key features for the BlackBerry 10 platform; however, the integration of these features and the associated large volume of code into the platform has proven to be more time consuming than anticipated. As a result, the Company now expects to launch the first BlackBerry 10 smartphones in market in Q1 of calendar 2013.
While it is very difficult to digest that news, we should also consider the other news which is far worse. RIM will be laying off 5000 employees and has lost, in estimate, $500 million(USD). This should be taken as exactly what it is. Worse than what people were expecting.

Over all, RIM did have some good news as they say sales grew in all other regions but North America. But when your business mainstay was North America, this really cannot be considered more than a booster shot in the arm of a possibly terminal patient.

So BlackBerry fans and users, what does this news of the delay do o your new phone plans? will it change them? Saving your upgrade for the new BlackBerry 10 phone? Will you keep your upgrade or use it on a competing device?
