• BlackBerry 10.2.1 Will Allow Direct APK Android App Installation

In today's world, mobile is all about apps. BlackBerry 10's weakest point to date happens to also be apps. Yes, there are a lot of great apps in BlackBerry World, but you'd have to be crazy not to acknowledge the lack of big, big name apps in the storefront. Having Google Play directly on BlackBerry 10 would've been cool, but that's not happening.

Thankfully, it seems BlackBerry will be making a huge step of improvement for getting Android apps on board with a new discovered feature in OS 10.2.1. With this future update, users will be able to install APK files directly from their device without needing to connect it to a computer.

This will undoubtedly be a huge plus on the apps front for BlackBerry, but it still isn't enough. Most users that don't read blogs, or forums, won't know about this feature unless it is marketed and talked about. Ideally, their focus should stay on BlackBerry World, and getting this apps in there as well.

Nevertheless, this is definitely exciting, and I personally can't wait for 10.2.1 to be available officially. We've seen a new call screen, and now, a new installation method for Android APKs. One word: awesome.
