• Application Resource Monitor Updated To v1.0.0.35

Update: Looks like this version has been out for a couple weeks already and it came late to my device. So if you haven't yet updated, continue reading...

The native app that keeps other apps from bogging down your BlackBerry has been updated today to version 1.0.0.35. Application Resource Monitor is probably one of the most important apps on my BlackBerry. After I installed it many months ago, I noticed improvements right away when I deleted some apps the Monitor had flagged. This was RIM's way of telling devs to shape up their apps, as many users were experiencing severe battery drainage and memory leak.

    Changes in this update include:
    - A new icon will be shown in the homescreen banner when any application is closed.
    - You can specify not to monitor an application.
    - Automatic closing of applications can be disabled (so you will only be notified of an abusive app).

This update is only available for BlackBerry Smartphones running OS 7.1.
