• Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Runtime Player Coming To BlackBerry 10

With all the hype today at BlackBerry Jam Europe about the new native SDK 10.1, Red Limited Edition device, and Dev Alpha C, another piece of news has surfaced. The Android Runtime Player is going to be updated from Gingerbread 2.3.3 to Jelly Bean 4.1. This is a major update and much needed. It will also take some of the load off of Android devs to have confidence that their apps will run fine on the platform. Here are the details from the BB Dev site:

"We are working to bring up a newer version of Android Runtime on the BlackBerry 10 platform. We are still working through the details and full scope, but the target is to upgrade the Android Runtime from Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 to Jelly Bean 4.1. The goal is to support all current features and APIs available on the Android Runtime platform today as well as evaluate new features and APIs for inclusion."

    Z10 Issue

Normally a 2 finger swipe from the bottom bezel will bring up the keyboard. If you hold your device like I do, then a 2 thumb swipe up will do the trick.
