This is very cool news. On Jan 20th, just ten days before the launch of BlackBerry 10 - there will be ten developers hiking to the summit of mount Kilimanjaro. While they are on this journey to the top, they will be developing a charity application as part of this very strenuous outdoors hackathon.
The application will be built and deployed right at the top of the mountain, as well as much activity during the climb up. And to top if off, these devs will have BlackBerry 10 devices to record it all! So, we'll be looking forward to a very exciting recap video of the climb. The crew will also be live tweeting during the event, so be sure to follow them on Twitter: @BlackBerryLuca, @mweitzel, @lelany, @alexbowker, @glennthestein, @crwblyth, @BenQLive, @ecolquhoun and two other Twitterless climbers.
During all of this adventure, RIM will also be raising money for a charity. If you wish to contribute and help in this challenge, you can go to this site and give your donation to Médecins Sans Frontičres/Doctors Without Borders.
