We all love our BlackBerry apps. We love them so much in fact we wish we had more in our community. Unfortunately upgrading these apps can sometimes get a little annoying as certain confusing problems may present themselves when doing so. One of the most common and frustrating problems when upgrading an app is the missing icon error.

    The problem

You will be upgrading an app, let's say App World for this example, the upgrade will finish and you will be prompted to restart your phone in order to complete the upgrade. You do as you are prompted and restart your phone. After 2-8 min (unbelievable it still takes this long on some phones) you get back to your home screen, you look for the app you just upgrade and it is nowhere to be found.

The topic of syncing email data like calendar and contacts to a BlackBerry device seems to come up quite frequently. I was reminded of this from a blog post from RIM, that also showed some steps on how to do this. So I decided to follow suite and write up a quick tutorial for everyone here. So I hope this will help someone. The first think you will want to check is your software version, as the version must be OS 5.0 or higher. If you find yourself with a lower OS version than OS 5.0 then you will want to take a look at our download section and see if there is an update for your device. Then take a look at our all in one guide to upgrade your device.

How to get Skype on your BlackBerry PlayBook

As of yet there is no native Skype app for the BlackBerry PlayBook, but there is a nice workaround that allows you to use Skype from your PlayBook by taking advantage of Adobe Flash v10.3 support in the browser. The same goes for using GTalk, Yahoo, MSN, and a few others as well. How does it work? Simply go to http://imo.im/ from your PlayBook's browser and then sign in to one of the many messaging application options.

I tried it myself, and the Skype calling works pretty good. The PlayBook's QNX microphone picked up the sound very well, and the speed was pretty fast, not much delay. Let us know if you give it a try, and how it works for you?
