BBThemes recently updated their Seven Point Five theme. The update bring small enhancements & tweaks, but does now support OS 6 devices!

If you're like me, you are very picky when it comes to choosing a theme for your cherished BlackBerry device. Over the past few months, I've tried several different themes on my BlackBerry Bold 9900 & few actually stood out to me like MINI_banner did!

This theme is made by _Lucky45 & drkapprentice. It started off as just another basic OS 7 theme, but with a smaller banner. With recent updates to this theme on February 20th, they've upped it to become stellar theme (& the first theme) with PlayBook 2.0 icons!

We had originally planned to post this theme update earlier today, but luckily we got word this evening that the theme had once again been updated, this time to v2.0.18 which includes a RED glowing banner for missed calls & new emails.

Theme developer Lunars Edge Design has been hard at work making the recently leaked special edition P'9981 theme compatible for virtually every BlackBerry device. And as a token of gratitude to the BBOS community, this theme will be offered free to download for the entire day, today only. This is also the only P'9981 theme out there that comes with the original full wallpaper. The Bold 9930/9900 are the only OS 7 devices compatible with this theme, but we are told the other OS 7 devices will be compatible as well as soon as RIM releases the new Theme Studio software. Just a few days ago the special edition BlackBerry P'9981 theme was extracted for Bold 9900/9930 users. But many users were complaining that when installing the theme on their device the custom wallpaper that comes with the theme was not showing up, leaving a incomplete version of the P'9981 theme. Supposedly the wallpaper is hard-coded into the theme and cannot be extracted. The wallpaper is also being overridden by any stock carrier wallpaper that is on the default theme for the device. However, today we received a email with a photo from an anonymous tipster showing their 9900 device with the P'9981 theme installed and the wallpaper included. Didn't get any info as to how it was done, but we are told that we will receive another email in the next couple days showing how all Bold 9900/9930 users can get the wallpaper as well. After seeing several OS 7 themes from Magmic last week for the Bold 9900/9930, it was only time until we would see someone release themes for all the other OS 7 Devices. BB-Freaks has answered that call/request & released Carbon OS 7 Theme for BlackBerry Curve 9350/9360/9370, BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930, BlackBerry Torch 9810 & BlackBerry Torch 9850/9860.

Magmic solved the BlackBerry 7 Theme drought last week when they released their first Bold 9900/9930 theme, festively titled Deck the Halls. We are not quite certain if this theme (and the four other themes released today) were created using a tweaked version of Theme Builder 6 or if Magmic has discovered a totally different way to make their themes!

What a perfect holiday gift from a renowned theme maker!

I really love my BlackBerry 7 device, but the lack of themes was one of the biggest negative aspects of my Bold 9900.

Through unofficial methods (& possibly hacking certain aspects of Theme Builder 6), Magmic has released not one, not two, but FOUR BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930 themes! This comes merely days after they released Deck The Halls Holiday Theme. There is obviously many rough elements within the themes, & the overalll customization might be minimal, but this is quite certainly a great start to possibly higher quality themes in the near future.

**These Themes are also compatible with several OS 4/5/6 devices**

For the past 24 hours, a little birdy has been pointing me in the direction of some deliciously juicy news in the BlackBerry world. That being said, how beautiful would it be if an OS7 theme were to be released soon? Yes you read that right, and yes this is the real deal.

A developer is literally a hop, skip and a jump away from figuring out how to make OS7 themes by using Theme Builder 6. I've been informed that the developer has finally gotten Theme Buider 6 to recognize the Bold 9900 and may have even successfully loaded a 9700 theme to a 9900 and gotten the phone to acknowledge it. Of course that's assuming a few tweaks occurred on the 9700 theme, but that I'm actually uncertain about at this time.

For now though, the writers at BBOS will keep our eyes peeled for a leaked, or even official, release of an OS7 theme. But that doesn't mean you can't send in a few hints and tips to us in the mean time!
