With the current leaked OS 7.1 releases we've been able to gain access to some pretty cool new features. One of those features is that you can now stream files straight from your BlackBerry device via Wi-Fi (Media Server) wireless connection.

RIM has been working together with (DLNA) Digital Living Network Alliance , through their dedicated hard work to make this feature available to BlackBerry OS 7.1 devices. It has been verified that this feature works, and is now available for the BlackBerry Bold, Torch, and Curve devices, with other OS 7.1 devices to follow.

I have compiled several pictures from my BlackBerry Bold 9900 into a tutorial to show everyone how to stream media successfully on their BlackBerry device. Let's get started!

Anyone that uses this app will know that bookmarks are big deal when reading. The update also brings some communication and font fixes. Here is what's new in this release:
    • New bookmark features: List the bookmark by labels, Select from existing labels to add to bookmarks, Select multiple bookmarks for mass operation such as deletion, highlightin, and changing lables
    • when the communication has difficulties, the requests are queued instead of sent simultaneously to the server.
    • The font size can be set in points instead of 3 fixed levels of pixels, so that the text can be more easily read on higher-resolution screens.
