Boxeemote app is now available for the PlayBook. So what is Boxeemote and what does it do? Boxeemote turns your PlayBook into a PlayBook into a Boxee Box remote over WiFi. I am sure that now sparks a new question. What the heck is a Boxee Box? Boxee Box is a media streamer that lets stream movies, pix, music to your PC/Mac. It also lets you watch your favorite show that are available over the internet. I was an early adopter of Boxee Box and I must say, it was the best purchase I made in 2010. Be sure to tell us what you think of Boxeemote in the BBOS Forum.

We are now well into the second month since the release of the BlackBerry PlayBook into the hands of the BlackBerry user. I'd like to approach this review with some simple and brief explanations on how far the PlayBook has come in the relatively short time since it's been available, as well as go over some of it's main features. I've had the PlayBook for about 4 weeks now and I feel like I'm ready to thrown in my hat to be able to give an honest and informative review. Below, I'll be going over the main categories I feel most important that cover the basis for the PlayBook experience, as well as a few rants of my own. The tablet I have in hand for this review is a 16GB WiFi model that sells for $499 retail. Current PlayBook OS is OS v1.0.5.2304, which was released on 6/7. Let's get to it!...

Need for Speed: Undercover for PlayBook received a pretty big update jump from v1.3 to v2.0. No change log on the update, but being that it went to a v2 release there should either be some significant performance enhancements, or UI additions. Check your updates on your PlayBook and get updated. Be sure to let us know if you notice any changes in the comments.

BlackBerry PlayBook 2 Details and Specs Leaked?

    Joe Jerde
    Published on 05-31-2011 03:13 PM
    Categories:
    1. BlackBerry Rumors,
    2. BlackBerry PlayBook

The guys over at N4BB claim to have received some information form sources on a PlayBook 2 device. Their sources say the PlayBook 2 will come in a 10 inch screen, but I imagine a 7 inch will continue to be an option as well. Their sources also point out a few more details for a PlayBook 2:

    • Black & white colored models
    • SIM card slot
    • 4G/WiFi only, no 3G version
    • Thinner frame around screen
    • Able to connect to BES without BlackBerry Bridge

If indeed the tablet will get all of the above, I do see it being the PlayBook 2. But just a larger 10 inch screen would not warrant a new name. It seems that we all already knew that a second generation PlayBook would be getting these features anyway. The tablet market competition demands it. Remember, this is only rumors at this point as there is no hard evidence to support the above sources. And like I said, it's obvious the next tablet would head in this direction. Did you get the 7 inch PlayBook? Would a larger 10 inch screen fit you better?

If you're like me and use multiple cell phones with differing operating systems, then you are probably wondering when the PlayBook will feature some of the apps that you've grown to love on your other systems ...I mean why can't I view my Kindle books on the gloriousness that is the PlayBook?! Tablets are built for this kind of application, but they are unfortunately lacking for download.

When questioned about the release of such apps for tablets, the companies become very hush, hush. If you want to know where your favorite app companies stand in regards to these releases, please check out the below link.
